White bread n the shade of MESIMERI

Traditional recipe for white bread, perfect for pairing with MESIMERI extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and fresh oregano.

Add the yeast and 200 ml of water in the mixer and mix at low speed. Then add the flour, honey and MESIMERI extra virgin olive oil.
Dissolve the salt in 50 ml of water and our it into the mixing bowl. Knead at high speed, until the ingredients are homogenized, and the dough is satin-smooth.
Place the dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover with cling film and let it double in size (about 1 hour).
Line a baking tray with baking parchment, place the dough on the parchment and mold the dough into a loaf. Cover with film and leave the dough to prove for half an hour, until it rises.
Heat the oven to 180°C. Before putting the bread in the oven, cut a cross into the top of the loaf with a sharp knife and bake it for about 45 minutes until golden brown.
Take the bread out of the oven, place it on a wire rack and let it cool completely before slicing.
